Going to Be OK by Lisa Deguiseppi

Sometimes, this isn't a more perfect time for a hopeful, optimistic song. With her acoustic guitar and bass/percussion accompaniment, Lisa Deguiseppi shares with us her words for moving forward. We've all had the urge to throw in the towel, and this piece stands as a beacon for better days to come. She reminds us that it is not foolish to look to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but a necessity, to be okay.

Welcome to Sunday Morning Lyricality, featuring a weekly song or poem by a Minnesota writer. Our current guest editor is TJ Larum, a musician & songwriter.

“Going to be OK’ lyrics by Lisa Deguiseppi

It’s going to be okay
The sun is coming any day
Let this be my lullaby
Its going to be okay.

You can make it through,
’cause you’ve got galaxies inside of you
And though the way is unclear
Theres a helping hand to guide you here

So go to sleep
Close your eyes
The sun will be there when you rise

Now is never the end
Only time for things to begin again
And hope is not a foolish strength
Rather the pen that writes the page

You’ve been doing so much
Dont forget to keep your heart in touch
Because everything that you love
Is just what you needed, what you’ve been dreaming of

So go to sleep
Close your eyes
The sun will be there when you rise

Its going to be okay,
The sun is coming any day
Let this be my lullabye
It’s going to be okay
